This book is written by Prof Dr,Kuldip Kaur.This book defines comparative education that takes an international view of education by comparing and examining similarities and differences in educational practice in different countries. Generally, comparative studies of education are focused on the comparison of educational practices in two or more countries. The book takes an issues approach to the field by examining how different countries deal with problems or issues of importance and by determining the merits of the solutions used to address them. The book also points out the key concepts in the field so that teachers will have a frame of reference for the readings that are discussed. In the second half of the book, teachers can also explore issues of educational importance by examining and analyzing educational practices in a number of countries. The last part of the book talks about the finding ways of translating the theories discussed into teaching methods that will enhance learning. In conclusion, the book gives plenty of definitions, goals and scope of comparative education. It also introduces teachers to various methodologilcal, theoretical and topical areas that are interest. It also talks about the relationship between education and economic, social and cultural factors of educational practice. Afew of the chapters also talks about how issues in education may be studies and how to judge educators own teaching and education system. Lastly, the book also helps develop an informed understanding of the role of comparative education in the professional life of educationists for the purpose of planning,policy development,status improvement,innovation and international understanding
