There are two concepts pertaining to the model which are ‘The Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS)’ and ‘Inquiry Trainning Model’. The BSCS method educates learners on how to process a content using techniques equivalent to biological researches whereby the process begins by figuring out issues then identifying a specific method and use that method to solve issues. The inquiry training model allows learners According to () ‘An inquiring mind is curious and it is indicated by the questions asked by it’. Therefore, in order to build students with an inquiring mind teachers use this ITM model to expose students to the scientific processes enabling them to increase understanding, creative thinking, analysing skills, curiosity to venture and explore by asking questions and searching answers for the questions.
I link this model here because to me students listening to songs can be enjoyable but at the same time they are also experimenting the language element in the songs while studying the lyrics. The can even experiment and write their own songs.
Songs are an amazing element to use to teach English. Not all songs are suitable but some really do. It is sometimes really hard to find suitable songs especially according to what we teachers intend to plan to introduce or teach to our learners.
I was going browsing through the internet as technology is my closes friend when coming to finding teaching resources. One day I came across this amazing website called Teaching English Jukebox.
It was seriously in heaven to find a song website that has so many songs and the best part it has already been labelled and the songs are categorized to what element of English it can be used to teach.
All teachers need to do is listen and pick the suitable songs. Teachers can download and even create an own playlist.
So why wait? Teachers lets teach students using English Songs. I always love this link because it comes with songs and labels on what components it is suitable to teach in English .
