The Direct Instruction Model has a lot of benefits in generating meaningful and effective learning in the classroom. When used appropriately, direct instruction allows ‘ mastery of academic content and skills’ as in teachers can communicate content through differentiated levels of steps from simple to complex accompanied with controlled practices that will eventually assist learners to obtain mastery of content and skills. Next, it can enhance students motivation since students are always provided with feedback that might help them reflect on their learning process. As ‘It may also be an excellent way for a teacher to communicate enthusiasm for the subject and arouse the students' interest.’ Lastly, this model encourages learners self –esteem since ones students have accomplished an academic goal ‘they feel empowered with a sense of accomplishment’.
