MULTIPLICATION STRATEGIES

Teaching for memory will be successful if you are clear about what your students need to rememberThe teacher’s role is to be a planner who determines what is to be measured, what assessment to be carried out,how to give students a clear target,what teaching and learning experiences and instructions can be used to effectively lead students towards the target and how the information delivered can be related to students real life. A teachers needs to be a smart planner in order to create an exciting, productive and memorable lesson for students to remember what they need to remember. Referring to the learners, their role is to be active participants and learners since students need to always self-reflect and self-assess themselves because only ‘once they truly know their own memory processes and strengths, they will be able to figure out what they need to do next

I connected this post with the memorization teaching model because it is all about MATHS.
I always train my students to memorise the multiplication tables but now I have learnt to integrate technology with my teaching. I also read alot and got some amazing ideas from online websites.
I would love to share it with teachers.

Teachers here are some interesting methods i used to teach multiplication with students. It is not boring and very interactive too.

The methods are:
Relate multiplication to addition (recommended)
Use "ZERO"
Multiplication bingo
Rotate (recommended)

The brief instructions on how to use the strategies click the link below↓

This strategy is very useful:

90x90=8100 (put the 00 first then x the digit number)

39x35=
9x30=270
9x5=45
30x30=900
30x5=150
total =1365

I have also shared some additional workbooks, DIY activities, online games involving multiplication and worksheets from grade 2-grade 6 in the link below.↓
