Memorisation model has a lot of benefits in generating meaningful and effective learning in the classroom. Firstly, this model builds a memory bridge to assist students recall knowledge that otherwise is hard to remember. Secondly, this model encourages students to rearrange or reorganise information where students can personalise the information and become active learners. Thirdly, this model increases students interest in studying since it caters them the platform to try new ways to work with knowledge as well as if learners master the memorisation cues, learners can faster retrieve certain knowledge from their long-term memory. Next, this model ‘help students who are below average in verbal ability who might have greater difficulty with complex learning strategies.’ Lastly, this model is usable for all age group of learners.
a) Learners are engaged by scientifically orientated questions
b) Learners give priority to evidence
c)Learners formulate explanations from evidence
d) Learners evaluate explanation
e) Learners communicate and justify their proposed explanation.
I as a teacher always use teaching models to guide me in planning my lessons.I tend to compare both the models and I believe that we can also make Math fun according to the Scientific Inquiry Model.
