Teaching Science in English was introduced into our education and it created a huge reformation in the teaching line. Many teachers had to undergo varies strategy and helping plans and programs to enhance our learning of Science terms in English.
We teachers needed to even gain our own self tutorial in order to educate our students in English. It was really a challenging time when Science in English was first introduced. However from being purely English it has now become DLP as in dual language program.
Schools are given the option to choose either teach fully in English or Malay and exam papers always comes in both languages.
Teaching Science to me as a non Science teacher always found it interesting since we learn topics that really connected to ourselves as in our body, our health , our space , our environment, food,diet and many more. It actually prepares us to be more knowledgeable about everything that is around us.
In being international as in integrating Science topics from different syllabus we will look into primary Science Grade 1. At school teachers teach as well as do experiments and students really enjoyed it. Currently we are all doing e-learning and we teachers would love to bring back the same atmosphere online.
Hence, although I am not a Science teacher, I would love to help by sharing some resources for them. It is a video compilation of some materials.
