Memorisation model has a lot of benefits in generating meaningful and effective learning in the classroom. Firstly, this model builds a memory bridge to assist students recall knowledge that otherwise is hard to remember. Secondly, this model encourages students to rearrange or reorganise information where students can personalise the information and become active learners. Thirdly, this model increases students interest in studying since it caters them the platform to try new ways to work with knowledge as well as if learners master the memorisation cues, learners can faster retrieve certain knowledge from their long-term memory. Next, this model ‘help students who are below average in verbal ability who might have greater difficulty with complex learning strategies.’ Lastly, this model is usable for all age group of learners.
Memorisation Model is a useful model especially in generating a meaningful and effective learning in the classroom.
I am relating this model because now we are discussing about History which is a heavy subject content subject.
History is a very difficult subject to teach especially online. It needs plenty of teachers effort and time to create suitable teaching aids to present to students during their google meet. It is not the same as how we teach in the classroom whereby we always have our textbook and resource books around.
In the classroom we can easily get students attention as we will be present right in front of them. However, in e-learning it is very hard. Students are also unable to read and comprehend history on their own. Therefore i would like to help the History teachers by providing them some e-learning resources.
I have included some video resources chapter by chapter for Form 3 and Form 4. I hope it is useful.
