However, Ekman (1992) theory only explicated on physiological changes (emotions) and the feelings experienced (facial images) and ignored the cognitive aspect. Thus, entering into the second recent period, psychologist named Schachter and Singer (1962), introduced a theory entitled the ‘Cognitive Theory’ arguing that cognitive do shape emotion. The psychologist did a research on participants who were injected with a hormone -epinephrine (adrenaline) and were told different things about the effects of the injection on them with some inaccurate information. Then the candidates were sent to two different groups; one happy and the other angry. From the research, the result portrays that the ones in the happy situation often showed happy face and the other ones in the angry environment regularly showed angry face. Due to this, they state that people’s cognitive process such as interpretations, thoughts, and appraisals of situations, can trigger emotions. For example, if you win a lottery, firstly the lottery reacts as a stimulus then slowly we start to think on how to use the money and this directly brings feeling of joy and happiness and lastly some observable reactions like smiling. Concisely, the theory seems to confirm that cognition is vital in verifying an emotional state because judgment (thinking) arises before detecting the emotions (Plotnik 2008) .


I shared a simple research snapshot above to replicate the same situation I am in when I was and asked and still doing online classroom. I was very upset and very angry and felt like I was experimented and I failed as a teacher. But soon I learnt. I would like to share what I learnt. 

Tired of creating classroom work in Google Classroom. Now we can work as groups. Each design and send to each other. Once send the other person who receive can also edit or become the owner. It is far more easier then just sharing google classroom work links.
