Due to lack of English language proficiency being the primary reason for lots of form one students poor writing scores it may also lead to further complicated problems like weak in descriptive vocabulary knowledge. In current education environment learners in Malaysia face learning challenges mainly because they lack vocabulary, that is, they fail to acquire and comprehend words in English.(Sedau,2004)To explain further that majority of form one students perceive vocabulary learning as boring especially by students who highly depend on digital usage.(Umazah 2009). Furthermore in a study, when lower secondary students were requested to choose their favoured learning English skills, vocabulary learning was one of the least preferred among the students list (Teh Chee Seng, 2004).
Moreover, most Malaysian form one students tend to depend solely on their English textbook. In such circumstances, students are limited to a vast descriptive vocabulary exposures since they do not even refer to dictionary. Hence, their exposure to new descriptive words becomes limited only to English textbook used by teachers and descriptive words that are not in the textbook get neglected.(Norlida,2018).Thus, form one students with poor or limited descriptive vocabulary in English are more likely to be unable to express their thoughts and ideas in their Descriptive essays.
Briefly I am just sharing my experiences and some knowledge about our learners vocabulary state.

Teachers, we also teach or learn English in different fields. The registers are very different for each field. Therefore, I always have different dictionaries for different fields in order to help my learners understand English. I do not buy those dictionaries but I use technology resources to help me. The dictionaries comes with specific words to specific fields like law, medical,dentistry, business and banking.
The dictionaries also helps my learners to practice self learning as they can view the dictionaries anytime in their own pace. Some of the learners have extremely benefited from this dictionaries. Hence I would love to share my dictionaries with all teachers.
